About American Friends of Batsheva
American Friends of Batsheva (AFB) supports continued artistic excellence and promotes Batsheva Dance Company to U.S. audiences. AFB was established in New York in 2002 as a nonprofit organization to fundraise in the United States for the benefit of the celebrated Batsheva Dance Company. AFB is a critical partner in sustaining Batsheva as a global cultural beacon and inspirational source of creativity and research, learning, and exchange. AFB contributes to Batsheva’s operations through its fundraising efforts. Support provides necessary funding for:
– Staging productions and the development of new works;
– Programs that provide for the dancers’ physical and mental wellbeing, and the professional and personal processes they undergo as performing artists;
– Batsheva’s education initiatives in Israel, which introduce dance and movement to school children from across the country, regardless of their religion or socio-economic status; and
– Support for touring in the U.S.
