A rose bush rises from a mound of dirt. It’s contained in a glass terrarium that stands at the center of an insulated room. It is wheeled around, watered, nurtured, exhibited and mourned. It is some emblem of death comprised of living artifacts, ripped away from their natural habitat, in what might appear to be an effort of preservation. Uncontextualized life fragments haunt it, echo from outside the glass case, or a larger glass case the performance might seem entrapped in.
Like a living artifact, the piece unfolds through interaction that turns less and less sterile. Inevitably, what begins in morgue-like confines slowly spills out, changing the environment around it unrecognizably.
Drawing on their personal and professional relationship, Ben Green and Ohad Mazor, the creators and performers of the work dive into themes of gender, marriage, grief, language and migration, utilizing the terrarium to examine the ways in which the transient is preserved and displayed, idolized and mourned.
Batsheva Hosts, under the artistic direction of Dr. Lior Avizoor, is a platform showcasing works by independent Israeli artists from the fields of dance and performance.

About the Artists
Ben Green is a choreographer and performance maker originally from Nevada, USA. After 7 years performing with Batsheva Dance Company, he began developing his own projects and founded his performance collective, HIND LEGS, in 2023, presenting work in USA, Italy and Greece. He currently performs with P.OR.K under the direction of Marlene Monteiro Freitas, recently opening the prestigious Festival d’Avignon 2025. He has also participated in the Venice Biennale Teatro College for theatre makers. Ben is also a freelance choreography assistant and rehearsal director, with past projects with Ballet Opera d’Lyon.
Ohad Mazor is a non binary choreographer, actor and independent performance maker, born in Haifa, and former member of Batsheva Dance Company (2016-2023). She creates Drag performances under the name Sima Everything, and in 2022 created Flat/a One Woman Cabaret, performing at Habait Theater and CCA: Tel Aviv Yafo. In 2025 she choreographed and acted in Seagull: True Story directed by Alexander Molochnikov, with runs in London and The Public Theater in New York. Recently she acted and was a co-writer of Dreyfus in Rehearsals, in The Tank Theater in New York, directed by Yonatan Esterkin.
