Artists Stand For Peace is a fundraiser event produced and curated by the dancers of Batsheva Dance Company which serves as a heartfelt cry for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the immediate release of all hostages, a lasting peace agreement and a future of coexistence.

The isolation of fighting for peace in a society that frames it as cynical and naive is incredibly daunting. We hope an event such as this, involving a broader community of artists, connected to organizations with real social and political influence, and focused on refusing to fall into the endless spiral of blame, violence and dehumanization, can inspire others to raise their voices. We do not presume to change the world overnight but we see culture as an ever morphing representation of society shaped by the actions of its  people (artists especially) and our choice between staying silent and screaming “ENOUGH!” echoes into what becomes possible in the future. We must not let the idea of peace become radical.

The evening’s artistic program features selections from Ohad Naharin’s repertoire, original works by company dancers, a speech by Sally Abed, leader in “Standing Together” movementand, performances by guest artists in various fields. Together, these voices unite in a shared message of reconciliation, solidarity, and humanity.

All proceeds from the event will be donated and divided equally between financial/mental health support of hostages and their families via Hostage And Missing Families Forum and Standing Together—a grassroots movement of Jewish and Palestinian citizens of Israel fighting for peace, equity and social and climate justice.
