Jesse Callaert

Jesse Callaert (1999) born in Ghent, Belgium, studied at the Royal Ballet School Antwerp for six years, which provided him with professional ballet training and a base for modern and contemporary dance. After dancing as a guest artist with Ballett Zürich, he joined Nederlands Dans Theater 2 (2017 – 2021) and continued at Staatsballett Hannover under the artistic direction of choreographer Marco Goecke. Jesse has performed pieces by many choreographers including Jiøí Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Sol León & Paul Lightfoot, Marco Goecke, Sharon Eyal, Crystal Pite, Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Edward Clug, Medhi Walerski, Bryan Arias, Tom Weinberger, Nadav Zelner, and Felix Landerer. In 2019, he co-founded ‘Fase 2 Fase’, a platform offering high-quality dance workshops and since 2022, Jesse has been working as an international freelance artist and as a stager/assistant for Alexander Ekman and Johan Inger.

Joined the Batsheva Ensemble in 2024.
